Antonio Stom. Antonio Stom was an Italian painter.
He was descended from a family of painters originally from Val Gardena and who worked in Venice in the seventeenth century. He was a painter of landscapes, views, battles, fantasy paintings and whims, expressed in a loose and luminous style, which may reflect the training of the painter Gianantonio Guardi.
The other painters of the same family were Giovanni, Giuseppe and Matteo whose signatures we know on a canvas with a battle, held in the Eremitani Civic Museums of Padua. He was a composer of historical scenes, a portrayer of events, ceremonies and other memorable activities.
With a lively touch and wide-ranging perspective in his composition, he also showed sensitivity for speckling, approaching this in the manner of Luca Carlevarijs.
