Joseph Wencker. Joseph Wencker born in Strasbourg on November 3, 1848 and died in Paris on December 21, 1919 is a French painter.
Joseph Wencker attended the municipal drawing school in Strasbourg, worked for a decorator and then, in 1868, entered the Beaux-Arts in Paris in the studio of Jean-Léon Gérome. In 1876, he won the Prix de Rome in painting.
He is the author of portraits, religious subjects and genre scenes. He is buried in the Montmorency cemetery.
