Mochizuki Gyokusen (c1834 - 1913). Mochizuki Gyokusen was a Japanese painter in Kyoto. He was taught by his father, Mochizuki Shigeteru. He was a founder of the Kyoto Prefectural School of Painting. He became an artist to the imperial household in 1904. He exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900. His paintings also were exhibited at the Naikoku Kangyo Hakurankai and the Naikoku Kaiga Kyoshinkai. His work is held by the Harvard Art Museums and the Tokyo National Museum.
