Shuki Okamoto (c1807 - 1862). Shuki Okamoto, family name Sukenojo, brush name Shuo, Fujiwara Ryusen was a Japanese flower and bird painter from the 18th and 19th centuries, born about 1807 in Edo, died in 1862. He was a painter from the Nanga school, literate painting, pupil of Kuwagata Keisai, who on the death of his master followed the style of Kazan. Specialist in flowers and birds, he is was sponsored by Lord Okubo, in Odawara.
