Artists who influenced María Izquierdo![]() | Mexican painter and printmaker. She moved to Mexico City to study at the Academia de San Carlos and soon afterwards briefly shared a studio with Rufino Tamayo, who influenced her artistic development and taught her how to use gouache and watercolour. She exhibited in New York in 1929 and later made woodcuts with the Liga de Escritores y Artistas Revolucionarios, an association founded in 1934.
