Studied at the La Lonja Academy of Fine Arts in Barcelona 1907-10 and later at an art school run by the painter Gali. Began c1917 to paint still life, landscapes and figures influenced by van Gogh and Fauvism and by the Cubism of Braque and Picasso, with strong rhythmical stylisation.
